Drew University of Medicine and Science in Los Angeles and holds a Professorship in Pharmacology at Capital City University, underscoring his global academic standing and influence.

Dr. Wilfredo Fernando Cortizo is an internationally experienced biochemist, pharmacologist, and integrative medicine researcher whose career spans more than four decades across medical research, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, microbiology, and preventive healthcare. With a strong foundation in scientific research and translational medicine, Dr. Fernando has dedicated his professional life to the development of innovative health solutions designed to improve human wellbeing through evidence-based and integrative approaches.
Dr. Fernando completed his undergraduate studies in Biomedical Science at Monash University, Australia, majoring in Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Genetics, before earning his PhD in Biochemistry from the Faculty of Medicine at Monash University. His doctoral research specialized in insulin action and insulin receptors within the Diabetes Research Group, establishing an early focus on endocrinology, metabolism, and chronic disease research. During this period, he also participated in collaborative research with the Department of Pathology at the University of Pennsylvania, USA.
Following his academic training, Dr. Fernando held research and leadership positions at major Australian institutions including La Trobe University, Monash Medical School, Alfred Hospital, and the Commonwealth Serum Laboratories (CSL), one of Australia’s leading pharmaceutical organizations. At CSL, he worked extensively in pharmaceutical manufacturing, protein chemistry, product development, clinical trial management, and regulatory affairs, contributing to the development and implementation of therapies for haemophilia and blood-related disorders.
Over the last 30 years, Dr. Fernando has played a significant role in the global advancement of probiotics, microbiological technologies, nutraceuticals, anti-aging medicine, genomic testing, and integrative healthcare systems. He served as Director and CEO of several international biotechnology and wellness companies across Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Korea, China, and the United States, including OMX International, YourGene LLC, Ageless Asia, and Nxgene Malaysia. His work has focused on bridging modern scientific research with preventive and personalized healthcare strategies.
A respected international lecturer and educator, Dr. Fernando has presented at numerous global medical and scientific conferences throughout Australia, the United States, Europe, and Asia. He has lectured extensively on anti-aging medicine, genomics, nutrigenomics, microbiome science, cardiovascular health, integrative medicine, metabolic disorders, and preventive healthcare.
